    Thanksgiving Scriptures

    November 13, 2012 By shelleyhitz 2 Comments

    49 Thanksgiving Scriptures

    Below I have posted 49 different Thanksgiving scriptures – verses that have to do with thanks and gratitude.  You can use these during your thanksgiving celebration or anytime of the year to express your gratitude to God.   All the scriptures below are from the NKJV.

    Also, you might be interested in the 21 ways to celebrate gratitude at Thanksgiving that I share here.

    49 Thanksgiving Scriptures

    Psalm 95:1-6

    Oh come, let us sing to the Lord!
    Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.

    Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving;
    Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.

     For the Lord is the great God,
    And the great King above all gods.
     In His hand are the deep places of the earth;
    The heights of the hills are His also.
     The sea is His, for He made it;
    And His hands formed the dry land.

     Oh come, let us worship and bow down;
    Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.

    Psalm 100

    Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands!
     Serve the Lord with gladness;
    Come before His presence with singing.
     Know that the Lord, He is God;
    It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
    We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

    Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
    And into His courts with praise.
    Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
     For the Lord is good;
    His mercy is everlasting,
    And His truth endures to all generations.

    Psalm 107:1

    Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
    For His mercy endures forever.

    And You are exalted as head over all.
     Both riches and honor come from You,
    And You reign over all.
    In Your hand is power and might;
    In Your hand it is to make great
    And to give strength to all.

    We thank You
    And praise Your glorious name.

    A Life of Gratitude Series

    A Life of Gratitude Book Series

    A “Life of Gratitude Series” by Shelley Hitz is a great way to live out gratitude all year ’round.  Spend 21 days focusing on gratitude and watch how God transforms you from the inside out.

    From the author:

    I wrote this series during a difficult year.  There was a lot of transitions, loneliness,  grieving as well as financial stress.  I was praying about it and sensed God saying to me, “Yes, it has been a difficult year.  But, if you had never walked through this dark season, you would have never written these books on gratitude that have impacted so many.”  And instantly I knew that to be true.  These books were birthed out of my own desire to have more gratitude in my life instead of getting stuck in self-pity and depression.  And now I pray that God uses these books to draw you closer to Him and towards a spirit of gratitude in your life.

    Book #1:  21 Days of Gratitude Challenge

    [easyazon-image align=”right” asin=”B008AWLN24″ locale=”us” height=”160″ src=”http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51OWFc8GL6L._SL160_.jpg” width=”124″]During a season of transition in my life, I found myself overwhelmed with negative emotions like self-pity and a complaining spirit. It was as if a dark cloud had descended over me. I prayed and asked God for wisdom on how to overcome these negative emotions. And I sensed Him leading me to do this 21 days of gratitude challenge.

    Over the course of the 21 days, God began to change me as I spent intentional time being grateful for all I have been given. I did this through writing in my journal each day and also sending a hand-written thank you note to someone different each day.

    And now I want to share what I learned with you in the short, but powerful book.

    What to Expect On Each Day of the Challenge:
    • Read my personal stories, struggles and reflections.
    • Read one scripture and one quote about gratitude.
    • Apply one personal application step.

    Get Accountability and Encouragement

    Along with the 21 day challenge, I also started a private Facebook group to provide accountability and encouragement for myself but also for others who decide to join me in the challenge.  You will get access to this group as well.  It has been amazing to see God at work in each of our lives.

    Will you join us?

When I pray consistently to God something changes within me. And it can change you too. However, sometimes it is easy to get caught up in the busyness of life and not take the time to pray. This book can help you form a habit of coming to God everyday in prayer.

    21 Days to a New Habit of Prayer  They say it takes 21 days to form a new habit. And so I have shared 21 prayers of gratitude with you to help you form a habit of prayer in your life. I have taken key truths from scripture and reworded them into prayers of gratitude. Combining prayer with God’s Word is powerful. I have experienced this in my own life and now want to share it with you.I pray that these prayers help you to overcome negativity through applying the power of prayer and God’s Word to your life.

    One way to live life to the fullest is to live each day with a grateful heart. In this book, we share 21 stories of gratitude to give you encouragement and hope in your own journey. Gratitude is possible! Even though many times we cannot change our circumstances, we can change the way we see them. We can ask God to empower us to change our thoughts.

    Our prayer for you is that you find encouragement within these pages. And we pray that you will ask God for His strength to renew your mind with His truth and the hope He offers each one of us every day. It is only through Christ renewing our minds that we can truly live each day with a grateful heart.
