Review
"This book helped me to break free. I have freedom from my addiction now. To God be the glory!" - Allie
"This book helped me see that my sins were forgivable and that if I truly wanted to change my ways, God would give me the strength to do just that. This book saved my life!" - Elizabeth
From the Author
"This book isn't just for women. It is for parents, teachers, faculty and administrators who work with women and girls. It's great for starting honest and transparent conversations about difficult and often embarrassing issues. The statistics are compelling, the ease-of-access to pornography is eye-opening, and the chapter on "your brain on porn" is essential information from which anyone can benefit."
- Becky Tirabassi, Founder of Burning Hearts Inc., Author and Speaker
"What a powerful book! Working with teen girls and talking candidly with them about the issues they face, I know first hand many girls are struggling with pornography and the path of destruction it takes them on. It has been difficult for me to find Christian resources that address the issue of pornography and females because it has been stigmatized as a "guy thing." This book gives me the resources I need."
- Katie Wolfe, Founder & CEO of Get Real inC Getrealinc.org
"This book by far is the best I've seen on the subject of pornography. I was molested at 12 years of age and got heavily into pornography because of it. Back then I had no one to talk to and there were no books on this subject. So the older I became the darker this sin became in my life. If you or someone you know is into porn, please tell them about this book. It might be their only hope."

In addition to helping others find the courage to admit this addiction, this book also gives real, practical steps to take to break free for good from this stronghold through Christ. These suggestions are appropriate for any kind of addiction as they rely on the power, love and grace of Jesus.
As a mother of daughters, youth group leader and woman in today's society, I find this book to be eye opening to the problem that faces each of us, no matter what our age. As we are bombarded by today's media, it could be very easy for any of us to fall into this trap. It is thought provoking and makes us step back and really think about what we watch, what we allow our children to watch and how something that seems "not so bad" can really lure us into something we never thought could happen to us as Christian women.
I applaud the authors and those willing to share their testimonies for sharing their struggle and their walk to freedom through Christ. You have opened the door for Christ to work in countless lives through your honesty and passion to share the word of God and the hope found only in Jesus.
Regardless of how it happens, men and women alike become addicted to it. In her book, A Christian Woman’s Guide to Breaking Free from Pornography, Shelley Hitz has not only identified the problem, but offers a clear Biblical way to get out of the clutches of porn. Shelley speaks candidly from her own personal experiences with porn without delving into any of the goring details.
I highly recommend this book to anyone, male or female, who find themselves addicted to porn and want a way out. It is a book that Christian pastors and counselors will find very helpful in their ministries.
Using scientific evidence, scriptural evidence, and personal stories, this book provides readers a better understanding of how pornography impacts a persons mind and spirit. In addition, these authors walk the reader through more than a dozen specific strategies that women can use on their journey to find freedom from porn addiction. I highly recommend this book!
In today's society we are blasted by images of sexuality, and though it seems that men are a major target, so are women. The majority of women, even in the church, have issues with sexuality and intimacy in some form or another. One third of all women have been raped or molested. Women need healing, and to know they are not alone.
In this book, several real-life women come forward and give their testimony. The first step to freedom is realizing there is a problem, admitting it, and confessing it. It takes bravery for the last part. These women have stepped forward in faith and their courage has opened the door to help others.
If you know that you struggle in this area, you must get this book.
